Mountain of the Lord

I belong to a prayer group through Zoom that prays together on Friday mornings. This morning while we were praying one of the women had a picture of people from all nations carrying their burdens to a great mountain. There was more to the vision, but this part is what is relevant to my blog. The Lord led me to Isaiah 2:2-3 and Micah 4:1-2; both passages say virtually the same thing. I quote from the Isaiah passage: "Now it will come about that in the last days the mountain of the house of the Lord will be established as the chief of the mountains and will be raised above the hills; and all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples will come and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us concerning His ways and that we may walk in His paths.' For the law will go forth from Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."

There is a lot said these days in the Charismatic circles about mountains and governing on the different mountains of society such as the mountain of education, media, religion, government, etc. I am not discounting that at all. I know some of the people who write about the different mountains and have great respect for them but what I see in this passage as reflected in the vision of the woman this morning, is that we need to come to the mountain of the Lord. His mountain is exalted over all other mountains. That is where our hope and security lie, not in our government, our media, our religion, or any other man-made system. When I say religion, I am not speaking about our relationship with the Lord Jesus that is where our hope lies, not in our church or our denomination. Come to the mountain of the Lord and be taught His ways and walk His paths.
